I am not the Great and Powerful Turtle

I am not the Great and Powerful Turtle

A Poem by Jon Roggie
"

My apologies, Mr. Martin.

"
Before the few questions begin,
  the Great and Powerful Turtle,
     Turtle for short,
was created by a certain George R. R. Martin.

 Yeah, that guy.
    It was a while ago.

A book series,
  still ongoing,
    called Wild Cards
      Looked into it yourself,
         if this draws your interest.

The Turtle was an extremely powerful telekinetic,
and when he first started to use his power,
    for good I must add,
       he built a shell.

Using salvaged battleship plating,
  he made a shell,
protecting him while he used his strength.

Now,
   here comes the kicker,
he could only use those powers while within the shell.

He grew stronger,
but was dependent upon his shell.

I am simply a tortoise,
   spinning words here and there,
       comfortable where I walk,
          merely telling a tale.

Sorry, folks! Living one of my favorite group of stories, the Wild Card books. So many great writers were involved in creating this universe. Check them out if you have the opportunity!
