Grounded

Grounded

A Poem by Jon Roggie

There is always a base,
something to hold it all together.

I am surrounded by stone,
  etched by water,
     and winds,
       long past.

Scars which became beauty,
  centuries in the process.

How can I ignore it?

I can only wonder,
  how time will change me.
