A haunted room

A haunted room

A Poem by Jon Roggie
"

Let's see if I remember how to rhyme.

"
I look into our room
  quietly noticing,
   feels more like a tomb.

Each night,
  we turn out the light,
    and rather than sleep,
      it just becomes a fight.

You defy,
and I try to make my memories deny.

Hanging on to a bit of hope,
all the time feeling like a dope.

you didn't forget how to rhyme...

but this is not a comfortable room at night...

i have hung onto hope like this
hoping for one more heartfelt kiss
doing a relationship rope-a-dope
feeling much like one pinning everything on idealistic hope.
