Another unexpected shift

Another unexpected shift

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Last thing on my mind,
but never plan on a sure thing,
because that is when the unexpected comes along.

A day off was in order,
but another had made a plan a week ago,
one neglected to be passed along.

So an expected bit of reprieve,
turns into a stretch of six,
and instead of a night out,
another night trying to create words.

the unexpected words are the best...love it when that happens...i don't mind missing the night off, if the words make it worth it...
i'll take a poemy shift...any day of the week, or late night.
