Playing with the dragon within

Playing with the dragon within

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I know the consequences,
and I realize I will feel the fire,
   but sometimes you can't resist.

I won't sleep tonight,
  tossing in my bed,
while my mind is on fire.

Simple words unable to contain the feelings.

Only give a glimmer of what I want to share.

This makes me think of insomnia and poetry. That's what I do, anyway. A lot better than counting sheep.

I sometimes wake at about three, and a write helps me go back to sleep.

Trying to decide which old story to put a spin on. Maybe go back to Aristotle.

Yeah, but I don't think I have the energy for his stuff. Maybe a bit of Siddhartha.
