Innocent

Innocent

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Wide open eyes,
  wondering at the world around.

This is what I want,
  not for others,
   I long for this feeling.

Tired of others duplicity,
   distracting from moments of hope.

I can only withdraw,
  contemplating in my shell.

Yes, one does get tired of duplicity, particularly if it's in a place that you like to be.

As a couple of my fellow writers would agree, we can always visit the garden.
Such a lovely feeling. :)
I withdraw to my own shell. It's so peaceful.
