Tortoise dreams

Tortoise dreams

A Poem by Jon Roggie

A morning nap,
  in a bit of shade.

Enjoying the quiet.

Dreaming of the world,
  one carried on a shell.

A burden always heavy,
  but cherished.

For some are not patient,
and would shake the world from their back,
unaware of what damage was being done.

Feeling the weight,
  the tortoise sleeps,
   and smiles while dreaming.
