Sitting by a tree

Sitting by a tree

A Poem by Jon Roggie

You have noticed me,
   sitting with my back resting,
      always against the same tree.

Can you keep a secret?

I am sharing time with my love.

I know,
  you are young,
    and may not understand,
but I swear it is the truth.

Both of us have been here for so long.

Now,
   back to your family,
       before they worry.

"That was sweet."

Thank you,
  my dear.

Maybe later,
    leave your tree,
and we can dance beneath your leaves.

For whatever reason, I had to write something about a dryad. Glad you liked it!
