From a tortoise's perspective

From a tortoise's perspective

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I think this is fair game.

H. C. A.'s  words carry to this day

When the blinding rhetoric,
  overwhelms the goal,
and makes you wonder if it was ever intended.

So many stride along,
  each wearing the same outfit.

Walking along with the Emperor,
in his fine new set of clothing.

     waiting for a child.

the blinding rhetoric....coming at us with the speed of the hare...but that which is slowly absorbed sticks to our minds better...

i like the ending..."waiting for the child" reminds me of Jesus..and the wisdom he imparted at such an early age...and in increments...slowly...like the tortoise covering ground...
the hare reaches the finish line...devoid of much of the knowledge he skipped over too fast.
