I think that you have used a pinball metaphor to express the nature of Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorem, the “tilt” switch. It was fun to read. All scientific knowledge is tentative.

Granted I had to look up the reference, but it did remind me why I would drive some of my professors insane. When you jump from one spot to the answer by noticing the pattern of examples, it can be irritating saying "It's obvious.". Thanks for the insight, and the reference.
