There you are

There you are

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Really?

Try to sneak in while I sleep.
  Disturb my dreams.

Did you think I would not notice?

Did you think I wasn't expecting you?

How many years has it been?

So get it over with,
and let the pain be felt.

You’ve said volumes in so few words. Each line is a hot flame. Repressed memories claw their way out from the quicksand of our subconscious minds during sleep, scratching and biting as they shred our sweet tranquil dreams into fragments. You have a unique poetic style.

This is why I keep my writes simple. Words can strike a chord, and lead to thought or emotion.
