The monkey house

The monkey house

A Poem by Jon Roggie

This was an image from the zoo when I was a child.

I have not returned in years,
  so maybe it has changed.

When you walk in,
  the stench is overpowering.

After a bit of acclimation,
  you don't notice the smell.

Actions are humorous,
  unless you notice the interaction.

Domination.

Violence.

Casual entertainment for someone passing.

Much like a walk along the street.

Grown used to the stench.
