Can't we make a difference?

Can't we make a difference?

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Start with a moment of silence.

Not very effective in print.

Now,
  I have to talk.
    Write.
       Try to explain.

All of us can sit.
   Waiting for someone else.

The first step,
one all of you are waiting for.

Your complacency stops you.

The step has been taken,
  Ignored.
    Twisted.

So,
  repeat the first step,
as many times as it takes.

i don't know, Jon...
can we make a difference? we thought so in the 60's and we spoke out...

we are hushed, just lost in our own being...especially the younger generation...not paying attention...maybe it is just too painful to feel involved.
