A final tale

A final tale

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I have your attention.

You took me from my family,
  and while telling tales,
never could I hear the one I wanted most.

Those chains bind us.

While teaching me,
  you failed to notice.

I was watching.

I saw my face reflected by others,
  and each became dear.

My stories are not yours,
  simple deceptions,
    trying to make some complacent.

Still,
in your way you took pity.

I can only do the same.

So,
let me tell you a tale,
    one which will awaken you.

A tale of a boy.
A boy who only wanted to tell a tale.
