By the stream

By the stream

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Child by a stream.

Feeling deprived,
  and neglected.

Notices a large stone,
  barely showing above the surface,
resting in the middle of the stream.

Takes a stone,
  throws,
    landing a bit short.

"Never do anything right..."

Tries again.
This time just a bit over.

"Can't do what I want."

Throws again,
  finally hitting.

The "stone" rises up.

"Did that help?  Now may a turtle try to get some sleep?'
    ...and vanishes into the waters.
