Startled from sleep

Startled from sleep

A Poem by Jon Roggie

A creek of the door,
  click of the lock,
   and doubt surrounds you.

Memories unfocused,
  startled in the moment.

Sleep.

Tomorrow,
  start again.

Memories,
  soon forgotten,
    give a moment of comfort.
