and you are not there....

and you are not there....

A Poem by Jon Roggie

keeping the title,
write about something else.

can do better

this is spoken word.

so,
let me tell a tale.

Mrs. Johnson.

By the time I met her,
she was dying.

Not in a slow way,
maybe tomorrow.

and I was her final Jon.

She would love the ribald tint.

Three before,
each with an h.

First,
a husband.

Before my time,
but he left an impression.

Next two,
friends,
and each seem to take along the load.

At the end,
I can't help feel I failed.

Still,
she did love the Rolling Stones shirt.

I had to turn myself around on this one. I feel she would approve. Thank you, sir.
