A Poem by Jon Roggie

wake in silence
rush to the mirror
will they like me?

What is wrong with this picture?

hesitant
avoiding attention

Can you not see it?

stay quiet
no one will tease me

Unacceptable.

No one should feel so alone.
Especially,
a child.

Yep. You are welcome...:).....................
I think we have a sense to inquire if people will accept us (including myself). Very relatable poem which attracts me to reading. I would have liked to read more details. Good stuff

the worst is when a child feels judged by other kids, if he or she feels different somehow...because being that young and impressionable...it can really damage the self-esteem and confidence.

powerful piece, Jon.

Still watching the outcome. Thank you, sir.
Its an image many people live with everyday, especially children, I think you've touched on a very serious issue that everyone can relate to.

Another inspired by a niece, minus the mirror. I did try to restrain myself. Thank you.
