Forgive me Rolling Stones

Forgive me Rolling Stones

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I stopped in today
to browse some writing.

Enough.

I can't destroy the song.

Like many,
I get way too many review requests.

Got on the list,
and now it feels like a telemarketer.

If you want me to read something,
a blanket request does not work.

I came here to write.

I prefer to encourage new writers.

Other writers feel like distant family.
We try to check in now and again.

The rest just want reviews.
Never return the favor.

Well,
"You can't always get what you want."

"but if you try sometime you just might find, you get what you need"

what you say here is so true...about encouraging new writers, but about some writers being here just to show off their work, as if they simply are entertaining us and we are lucky to get to read them over and over and over, with no reciprocation.

those rolling stones here definitely do gather moss, in my book.

well said.

Haha...this website is the closest thing I've ever been to a circle jerk. Just one s****y writer giving great reviews to another s****y writer who gives them great reviews

Not that I'm not a s****y writer. I'm just left out of the circle jerk
