Preconceptions

Preconceptions

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Let's be honest.

You took one look,
  and there was the story.

The clothes,
  the bike,
    the hair,
       it was all you saw.

Not used to a bit of ink?

One was for a friend lost.

Another for the birth of a child.

Can't leave out some of the music.

So,
  seeing the reaction.

Shrug.

Still,
  offer you a hand up.
