Gradually fading into the background

I could have said slowly.


Pardon me,
   I choose to withdraw.

The chaos I feel,
  it makes me freeze,

I can't respond in anger.

Take the step back.

Pause for a moment.

Breathe.

With hesitation,
  another step back.
