Just to have a moment to heal.

Just to have a moment to heal.

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Always  a reason.

Not a planned quip.
Not a political statement.

Merely, a way to let my thoughts run free.

Let the memories of the past
  collide with the present.

Can't change it,
  I can only accept.

Take a moment,
  take a breath.

Despite the memories,
force myself to take the time.

Take a bit of quiet,
  and sit.

Reflect,
and hold on to the joy.

Just sit and heal.

I think those silent times have changed, at least in how you experience them.
