Rare chance to see the smiles

Rare chance to see the smiles

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Set the stage.
Choose the music.

Simple performance,
  still so much fun.

Talk and tease,
each of you goes by so quickly,
  smile on your face.

One of the few times,
I am not behind the scenes.

Those who have been around for awhile,
light up when they see me.

Those who are new and shy,
  I catch off guard,
  and make feel at home.

Simple performance,
  always the audience changes.

Playing with the smoke and fire,
  limited ingredients,
  still you stay.

Create a feeling,
something that lights up the day.
