Wherever the river takes me.A Poem by Jon Roggie
Floating along,
sky reflected in the water, and in the glasses that hide my eyes. Sun warm on my skin, feet dangling in the surface below. Hands play in the currents, changing the direction I go. Move to the safe cove, protected and warm, shore just a step away. Paddle into the riverbed. Water cold and fast, Take you beyond your control. Comfort of a cushion of air, makes the choices such a trivial thing. Simple leak, makes it desperate. No longer floating, taken by the river. Sink or swim, choice is mine. © 2013 Jon Roggie |
