It wasn't what you said

It wasn't what you said

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Suddenly,
  you say I've grown distant.

It may be true.

Do you know why?

Started with the hesitation,
  flinch from my touch.

Downcast eyes,
  hurried departures.

The emotions we have shared,
they give me a glimpse of your soul.

.... and I see.

~ you demystify how distancing happens beautifully and brilliantly, monsieur jon... ~ i think it's really tough when we catch glimpses of someone else's soul but they're completely unaware of who they are... what i mean is, it's terrible to know people better than they know themselves unless they're willing to listen...

As you seem to know, so many do not listen, or pay attention. Thank you.
