Concentrate on the music.

Concentrate on the music.

A Poem by Jon Roggie

The details hammer me.

An hour in public,
and I am starting to be overwhelmed.

Only the start of the day.

The details.

Fighting couple.

Single dad with his child.

Wreck on the side of the road.

Make it stop.

Just stop.

I don't need a player.

Just let the music flow through my mind.

Each note, so distinct.

Even when it came from years ago.

Just have to step back for a moment.

Ignore those around me.

Listen to the song,
  nobody else hears.

Set everything aside for a moment.

Concentrate on the music.

This is exactly what I need to do, focus on the music, the din of a thousand voices, milling , grumbling, rumbling emotions, do I trust , do I believe, do I hold on, do I let go, heads spinning so much confusion in the world today, so many failed everything's, but there are success stories too, there are sonnets and sunshine, maybe it's not so much the destiny as it is the journey. makes me think, implores to stand still and listen to the song in life. I enjoyed reading.

~ this is stunning and enlightening work, monsieur... it's taken me a really long time to drown the din around me in the air around me... and focus on what i want to focus on...
