Started with a doodle on a bathroom stall

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Doing the necessary.

Not quite right in the head.

Why not?

Happen to have a marker in my pocket.

"When was the last time you were loved?'

Quick joke,
  with some underlying feeling.

Crude jokes,
  of course they appeared quick.

Favorite pub,
  of course I returned.

Then I saw it once,
  and then again.

Some cheeky b*****d.

He stole my line.

Simple picture of a puppy,
  nuzzling a child's knee.

Someone took it the right way.

Now, people wonder.

Smile.

"I just love little puppies."

~ am not sure i'm reading this piece as intended... but it speaks to me of the return of and the return to innocence... an intriguing piece of poetry that is rather thought-provoking...
