Pain

Pain

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Do you hear that?

Sorry, I was rubbing my fingers together.

More and more,
  the feeling isn't there.

The burns,
  the blood.

Only notice when it slows me down.

Day to day.

Certain moments hit me more.

That call you never want to get.

That sight that makes you want to scream.

So sick.

Only time you feel,
is when something happens to another.

However, not all bad.

Mere moment of good news.

Kiss of greeting.

There is still a bit of feeling.

This poem is haunting and very poignant. The simple style allows the words themselves to speak.
