Beauty Wrapped in Scars

Beauty Wrapped in Scars

A Poem by jtbaldwin92

I love with you with all of my heart

You’re a strong woman who knows who you are

Loving you is sometimes hard

Because you’re beauty wrapped in scars

A past of struggles haunts you

Many dark thoughts surround you

And through it all there’s a light that shines through

You’re beauty wrapped in scars

You put on a happy face

And attempt to hide disgrace

At a life bound in chains

You’re beauty wrapped in scars

But you’re no longer one with open wounds

You’ve conquered all that the enemy threw

Maintaing yourself amidst the rue

You’re beauty wrapped in scars

Although I can’t protect you from the past

I pledge to help you towards the future

I pledge to never forget what matters

You’re beauty wrapped in scars

The remnants of a life once lived

The evidence of sorrows felt

The pain you still struggle with

You’re beauty wrapped in scars

You’re beauty wrapped in scars

I won’t look at you for the scars

I’ll simply be with you for who you are

Your beauty's far greater than the scars

You’re beauty; that’s who you are
