The JournalA Chapter by Jason AgainThe finding of the witch's journal.
"Where do you think he went to, Sean?" Amy broke the silence. "Well...it's hard to tell. Id say our best bet is to go check the hunting lodge." "There's a hunting lodge out here?" "Yeah, it was her husband's." Daniel interrupted, "Hey, my parents told me that she was an old hag who never married." "Yeah, because they wanted to scare you," Sean's reply was stern. "What is the stereotype of a witch? Old, gross, alone." The cousins remained puzzled by Sean, but they were now getting used to it.
The hike was seeming to trudge on for just too long to bear when they came to a sudden halt. Once more they were facing a rugged old shack. Only this one was a bit smaller.
"So what makes you think Matt's in here?" asked Amy. "Well, it seems to me that he's an explorer." "Well, yeah." "Then of course he'll want to search this place, and when he does he'll find the journal." "Journal?" "Let's see if Matt's here first, if he is, I'll let him tell you all about it."
Despite the outside appearance, inside the hunting lodge was quite clean. Evidence showed that someone had been here very recently. The shelves were neatly dusted with a few books on each. Mostly they were books on the occult. There were oils lamps at each corner of the main room, and even a few old paintings on the walls.
Sean called out, "Oh, Matthew! Are ya in here?" "Yeah, guys," He called from a room in the back, "I'm back here." They walked back to he room to find Matt seated on a bean bag reading a very old looking book." I found this journal. It says on the inside of the cover that it was a diary of Garnet Thompson. Hey, Sean, didn't you say your last name was Thompson?" "Why yes, yes I did," he replied with a smile. "I'm going to guess you have a story behind this." "Why yes, yes I do. Now sit back. I'll tell you all about the Thompson family. © 2008 Jason AgainAuthor's Note
