He's Different

He's Different

A Poem by Jeff McHugh

I'm a fighter, not a lover
A walking contradiction
To things they say will help you
A ripple in the system
I tend to drink my problems
A shot for every guilt
Never talk about a feeling
Never show my hand at will
Words, they come on strong
If you even wrong me once
Poison on my tounge
The damage has been done
Deadly sins describe me
Time and time again
Two wrongs, no rights I live by
A weapon of a man
But with all these faults, I'm learning
Teachers sent from up above
Surprisingly patient, always forgiving
They give me all their love
