Untitled.A Poem by J SchwenkLove yourself for who you are. Love your beautiful, insane, wonderful sweet soul.
"And kid, you’ve got to love yourself. You’ve got wake up at four in the morning, brew black coffee, and stare at the birds drowning in the darkness of the dawn. You’ve got to sit next to the man at the train station who’s reading your favorite book and start a conversation. You’ve got to come home after a bad day and burn your skin from a shower. Then you’ve got to wash all your sheets until they smell of lemon detergent you bought for four dollars at the local grocery store. You’ve got to stop taking everything so goddam personally. You are not the moon kissing the black sky. You’ve got to compliment someone's crooked brows at an art fair and tell them that their eyes remind you of green swimming pools in mid July. You’ve got to stop letting yourself get upset about things that won’t matter in two years. Sleep in on Saturday mornings and wake yourself up early on Sunday. You’ve got to stop worrying about what you’re going to tell her when she finds out. You’ve got to stop over thinking why he stopped caring about you over six months ago. You’ve got to stop asking everyone for their opinions. F**k it. Love yourself, kiddo. You’ve got to love yourself." - Author unknown
******************************************************************************************************************************************************************* Child Stop comparing yourself to
others It only deprives you of your
misery Stop hating yourself You're one soul in a million Love yourself for who you
are You've got to love yourself Wake up at 5 in the morning Drink hot tea and
contemplate the beautiful sunrise The sunrise that stretches
like a watercolor painting across the canvas Listen to the birds chirping
in the early morning Look at the tiny dewdrops
glistening like diamonds through the fog in the morning grass Sit down on the train
station on the Piccadilly line heading to Central London And talk to a stranger No matter how beautiful he
or she appears to be Talk to them Contemplate their crooked smile The way they walk and talk Appreciate it They're one in a million And so are you You're just a beautiful soul
walking on earth With a purpose You've got to come home
after a long, hard day and crawl under the covers Close your eyes and forget
the bad events that happened Burn your favourite candles
and snuggle with your soft blanket Then you've got to wear your
favourite, worn out sweater you bought for £10 in Camden Market Stop taking everything so goddamn
seriously You are not the sky kissing the
stars You are the universe Every atom resides within you Life is a f*****g beautiful, insane,
wonderful, sweet dream You've got to compliment someone's
eyes at a music festival And tell them their eyes remind you of the universe with a thousand
jewels Looking like a tiny universe
in the eyes With stars glistening as
pupils And when they blink, little
stars come out of their eyes You've got to stop getting
upset over small things that won't matter five years from now Stay up all night on
Saturday morning And sleep in on Sunday Stop wondering what you're
going to tell your mom you bought a plane ticket down South
to see someone when she finds out Take it as it comes Stop over thinking It creates a problem that
wasn't even there in the first place Stop caring so much what
others think of you Just let it go Be yourself F**k it Love yourself, child You've got to love every
inch of your beautiful, sweet, radiant soul (Inspired by above poetry) © 2014 J SchwenkReviews
