Precious Time

Precious Time

A Poem by J Schwenk
"

Don't waste time.

"
Time
Watching the clock go forward
Minutes pass by in the blink of an eye
Time is precious
The minutes, hours or days you use to do something useful
Flies by
And once time is slipped, you cannot get it back
it's gone
Life can be measured in time
In the past, time was measured in an hourglass full of sand
Now, time is measured in clocks
Time represents the present as being between the past and the future
Religion, philosophy and science was a major subject of time
What is time?
A sensation or experience?
The international unit of time is a second
Time is precious, use it wisely before it vanishes
Spend it with the people you love, make your life worthwhile
If you enjoy your time being wasted, then it is not wasted
Watching the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years go by
Time is a precious, precious thing.

I really enjoyed reading this poem. I totally agree with you. If only there was a time machine to go back to the event(s) you want to relive that would be awesome!

Thank you for your kind words. It's always a pleasure to read your poetry.
Interesting look at time great subject as well!

J, I , am never one to delve in the technicalities of writing and although I have read and study hard to be able to write to the best of my ability which ain't much to say the least, there is something which most writers seem to agree. If you are to place punctuation to help the reader find the tempo of the writing go on! Well done. If you are not then don't. I think were "they " would disagree a tiny bit is in the random side of puntuation. That aside, my mate Jack Wolfe has a writing in there which I am fan of Unforgiving Clock" and it pretty much gets rid of any philosophical implication. I do relate to the subjectivity and objectivity of time but in the end like or not we are always late ( while pretends to be the rabbit in Alice in Wondderland, I'm late , I'm late) as the unforgiving factor is that it won't stop for us which glad to say your closing lines make full allusion of it.

Tic follows tock follows tic

Thankyou
