Drops of goldA Poem by J SchwenkLook at the gold droplets across the black canvas, let your imagination run wild.Sitting on my chair I looked up at the night sky Reminiscing on my experiences from London Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and London I remember our first night overlooking the River Thames In Richmond But I'm here Looking up at the stars, I wonder How the moment is right now in London It's early morning over there I exhaled A small cloud formed So many beautiful stars in the night sky I couldn't see the stars in London Too much pollution I love seeing the stars Wondering how far away it is from earth Sometimes they look so close Yet so far away I wonder if I can touch them Plucking the stars from the night sky One by one I tucked a star for you Safely in my pocket That star is right in the middle in the universe The tiny jewel that stands out among all others Slowly I plucked more stars And tucked it away One By One Until the black canvas was empty Nothing was visible I put the stars away in a treasure chest Ready to be opened when I need to feel inspired A couple of years passed I opened the treasure chest again The stars are still there Still has its radiant shine I felt inspired again The evening sky is empty I took the stars from the chest And put it back where it belonged in the sky All but one I kept the last star in my pocket Safely tucked away The stars sighed happily Reunited again with the white crescent moon The moon smiled Everything is in place again.
