The road to Hana

The road to Hana

A Poem by J Schwenk
"

Nature unlocks the hidden beauty of life.

"
It was in Maui when I was riding in the backseat of a car
Riding through the long, windy road in Hawaii
The Road to Hana
Driving through the beautiful, tropical rainforest
I felt carsick because of the many sharp curves in the road
The sun was shining high in the bright blue sky
The smell of Plumeria flowers lingered in the air
Birds chirped
Tropical plants swayed in the soft breeze
The waves crashed on the cliff
I tried to enjoy the scenery that laid before me
But I felt sick
I rarely get carsick
The road to Hana was a long ride
But in the end
The view and scenery was worth it
I remember
My family and I stopped near a local cafè
And drank coffee
Fresh coffee beans from the farms not far by
Everything tasted fresh
The beautiful road to Hana
Hawaii is an exotic, incredible, insane, tropical place on Earth
I kept wondering how something so beautiful could exist
How nature made something that is close to paradise
Reminiscing on the memories
How I long to go back to Hawaii
Hawaii, my love
And explore everything life has to offer
For everything on this planet
Is beautiful, insane, wonderful, sweet and out of this world.
