Turning Pages

Turning Pages

A Poem by J Schwenk
"

Keep moving forward.

"

As soon as life began

The book opened

To chapter One

The page turned with each passing day

Move on when life seems boring

Don’t stay on one page

Keep moving forward

Just turn the page

Don’t move the pages backward to reflect on something

Chapter Ten

Another exciting life event

Look occasionally to the previous chapters

But don’t go back

Chapter Sixteen

Life was what she wanted

She had big dreams and achieved them

She lived her dreams

The pages turned

Chapter Seventeen

Life seems a little slow at that point

But don’t give up

When she goes away, some people didn’t keep in touch

The real friends are the ones who stayed

Keep flipping the pages

Life is good

She achieved things and came a long way

Don’t think how far you have to go

Think how far you’ve gotten

Chapter Fifty

She came a long, long way

She lived this crazy, insane wild ride called life

Stayed on and dealt with things

That weren’t always the best

She fully lived her life

The last page contained a few words

And the book closed.
