Nothing PersonalA Poem by Jessica SamuelsenThis is a writing exercise I did with Amanda Faulkner. We incorporated the quote from William Blake "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
You were my family my blood
our blood, that spills upon your precious floor. It is the poison of your weapon, that concerns me more then the wound The blade of a stranger does not carry a toxin like yours. Your infliction is nothing personal, and that make's it the most personal of all. Mother, it is easier to forgive an enemy, then it is to forgive a friend. Forgiving is not forgetting Though it's inconceivable For my own humanity, I will forgive you all the same. Find more at WritingPearls.com © 2011 Jessica SamuelsenAuthor's Note
