ForgottenA Poem by J.A. Stevensan endecha poem about the plight of the homelessForgotten
By: J. A. Stevens I am a man in the dark Lost, lonely and forsaken Longing for life or for death Mired in regret for the road not taken I am a man without hope Bent and rent and distorted Drowning in life’s shallow pool Weighed down by fate, my endeavors all thwarted A dirty old homeless man Unwashed, unshaven and poor The cup in my hand empty A living corpse slain in the poverty war A man yet I still remain In colorless grey attire Why have you forgotten me And warm your cold hands on my funeral pyre (16 lines) © Copyright 2012 J.A.
