In the Silent Hours

A Poem by J.A. Stevens
"

why we fear the night

"
In the Silent Hours
By: J. A. Stevens

In the silent hours.
When the orb of Luna rules,
And the colors of life flee the earth.
Then does darkness reign,
And the spirits of death dance
In the moonlight.
Then come the bumps in the night,
And tapping on window sills
From no earthly hand.
Then sound the disembodied moans,
And the skitterings of
Tiny unseen things.
Then do those who fear death
Hide away in dread,
And fervently pray that their God
Will not forsake them
To the enemies of life.

In silent hours, our minds get the better of us, letting our fears take over. Thank God for the morning light to bring us to our senses!

It is so true, the night time hours give birth to fear of those things that go bump in the night. Wonderful use of words to paint this Van guoe
