The Friendship Prayer
By: J. A. Stevens

The Lord’s blessings on you my friend
May God keep you until the end
And this wish unto you I send
That you find it is true
On Him you can ever depend
Always will He love you

Dear friend I give this unto you
My prayer of hope and good will too
And know God’s love will see you through
All trials hurts and fears
Pains and troubles He will keep few
Throughout your fleeting years

My entreaty to God sweet friend
That our love to Him I commend
May our friendship last to the end
And may He grant us peace
His grace may He with joy extend
And His blessings increase

I thank God for our amity
I praise Him that our love should be
Friendship is generosity
That He gives but to few
So I say in my prayers with glee
Thanks for a friend like you

Amen
