God’s Precious Gifts

God’s Precious Gifts

A Poem by J.A. Stevens
"

Who are we to deserve the majesty of God's beauty

"
God’s Precious Gifts
By: J. A. Stevens

God must have smiled when He made the flowers
Red and yellow, blue pink and white
Violet purple lavender green
He bestowed on His earth their myriad colors
And with the sweet fragrances of heaven
He perfumed the whole world

He gave to we sinners these simple reminders
Those who deny Me look only to these
For who but Me could create an orchid?
Who but Me could make a rose smell so sweet?
To those who still doubt go pick a sweet daisy
And see My heart opened to thee

A gift to the people from His hyacinth mansion
A bounty to all the larkspur and stock
He gave them to us freely with no reservations
Anthurium’s scarlet and daffodil’s beauty
And though we scarcely deserve His floral embrace
Yet still He blessed us with these

Yes God must have smiled when He made the flowers
He must have been singing a jasmine refrain
He reached into His heart and pulled out a lotus
He breathed on the lilac to make it smell sweet
With a sunflower kiss He gave rise to true beauty
That all who may see them believe

God's created so many beautiful things in this world that sometimes we don't take the time to realize it. From the vastness of the skies to the complex and intricate beauty of flowers. This is such a well written and beautiful poem. I'm so glad I was able to read it!
