Song of SolomonA Poem by jrPaperheartYou swear that we were never meant to sing the Song of Solomon Yet all I sing is your name & you have made it quite clear that your name is not your praises So my songs turn into whispers & my whispers only breach your ears as sweet nothings How does one pass liquid words through stone drums? It is hard enough to squeeze water fro m a rock Coal will emerge with the luminous garments of a diamond wardrobe Shed the outer layer & strip to the core You will be cut and fitted to the fingers of many suitors But I deeply fear that you are not a Penelope. I am dearly sorry for what I have done to you I do not expect to be forgiven for that is all that you've known & with nature unsympathetic and hyde unbreakable - you will look away.. But I will always look towards you For I see with weary, starving eyes what you are worth You are a diamond & diamonds are forever. © 2012 jrPaperheartReviews
