Better her than me

Better her than me

A Poem by Jennifer Roberts
"

Free verse.

"

it's enough for me
that the sky is looking brighter
—for both of us— a world of possibilities and new

the ground feels firmer under me—
no more sinking anxieties
I can walk with pride— free of the lust in your eyes

I didn't think it would happen
but it did
that's enough to signal a reprieve—
— it finally did!

good riddance to you— to me— all that you wanted to be
good luck to you— from me

A burden lifted, I can clearly see. This poem shows how much relief breaking away from the wrong relationship! Very well worded.
