"A writer's world" by J.R. Scott

"A writer's world" by J.R. Scott

A Poem by Jrizme
"

Just a lil' venting on behalf of a writer...I'm sure you guys can all relate.

"

Numbers or Figures, mean not a thing.

for we measure in lyric, in rhyme, and by dream.

The ability to flow and create dependent on

the brain and pen mating; vivid imagery spawned.

They say,

our way,

is flawed and stagnant

I say we're not weird, we're simply pregnant.
With novels, with poems, sonnets, and Haiku

our creative minds breed refuge for you.

Misunderstood are we

by most creation.

You down our demeanor and mock our inspiration.

But we press on even though we're different from most.

Great dreams we foster, endless potential we host.

To recline and escape the mechanics of life
We grab your subconscious and erase your strife

To a place far removed, where work doesn't matter

Your now in ecstasy, for we've removed the clatter.

You read our content, yet you don’t appreciate

the anguish we endure, just to create

Lyrical material thorough and empirical

To feed your warped mind literary cereal.

So when you see us at work and we appear aloof,

Please know that our qualms do not lay with you.

Our minds are probably in Writers Purgatory

warring with writers block to salvage the pen’s glory.

To my writers abroad, of whom I speak.

You make the world go 'round and you incubate peace

We're eclectic and conduits for all artistic birth

The complexity of our minds transforming the earth

Perfect! Perfect! PERFECTION!!!! This one's in the library!!!!!!!!! Incredible piece homie! You captured an artist's life perfectly and wrote a first person mini narrative of his life seen through other people around him who may not understand, yet still enjoys what he's a part of! This was dope and your wordplay is like my English professor's. Very intelligent. I still feel the swag though. I'll buy whatever you end up selling. Snapping my fingers in applause!......

I like this. Pieces that embrace a writer's state of mind are excellent in nature. They touch other writers.
This touched me. I love this line most, "I say we're not weird, we're simply pregnant.
With novels, with poems, sonnets, and Haiku our creative minds breed refuge for you."

I like the idea of being pregnant with thought and creative process as a piece developes and grows inside of me just waiting to be birthed and introduced to the world.
