The Poor & The Rich

The Poor & The Rich

A Poem by parentheses

The poor and their hope
Enough to cope, enough to cushion the rope
Their necks still break, their kin still weep
But the world still turns if hope they keep

The rich and their stuff
Never too much and never enough
The earth stripped bare, the people despair
But their lust for stuff is their only care

As a minimalistic person, this really resonates with me. I have grown up and always been financially stable, but I've never understood the connection people have with 'things'. Especially if a person has one, why do they need multiple. I chose to only use and buy what benefits me in some way and is necessary. It keeps me sane.
