Fanning the Flame

Fanning the Flame

A Story by tobedetermined
"

Loosening up the writing muscle and throwing miscellaneous bi-products into the brain blender to try and get my groove (I can't say 'get my groove back', not sure if I ever had one). :)

"

The flame can equal love
or desire
desire to learn
to travel
to paint, to write, to swim
If we are unable sustatin the fire what happens?
A song always comes to mind when I am in this frame of mind. I don't remember
the title, but it was written by Rodney Crowell..
'Love like a candle,
won't take me through a storm.
It's bright enough to burn me,
but to weak to keep me warm'
At 51 I find it more difficult to fan the flame.  But not impossible.
The desire to seek out (the nerd in me wants to add 'strange new worlds'
pops up here)... to seek out desire, and adventure and inspiration.  I guess
fanning the flame is simply having the need for the flame and not wanting
to give up.
I wanted to write a poem, but the flow isn't there.
The desire to still is though.

It's amazing how the untamed mind will never succumb to the will of the surrounds..Age-less is the mind, some say immortal.

Whatever your inspiration or barrenness, somehow you conjure words out of your store and mix them around into a concoction that pleases... and 51 is such a good age for a woman, when her attraction is in the maturity and experience that comes in the comfortable package...

I don't think your flame will ever die, it's in your essence
