Chapter 2

Mountains near Frisco, CO
July 1 2022


After Mike pressed the button nothing happened.

Mike said “well that was a big let down.”

All of a sudden the lights went out and they were in total darkness. Before they could turn on their head lamps they heard what sounded like a voice but it sounded unlike any human voice every heard. It was speaking in a language that neither understood.

Suddenly a wall shot out of the floor behind them. They ran to it to see if they could get it open some how, but there was no panel or other form of access. A bright wall of light formed at the end of the room at the door and slowly started making it’s way towards them. As they watched the light wall pulsed brighter then dimmer, they tried to get away from it because they did not know what it was. For all they knew it would kill them if they touched it. Try as they might they could not get away they grabbed each other had.

Mike looked at Helen and said “I love you.”

Helen replied “I love you too.”

They closed their eyes when the light got to them. They braced themselves and waited, suddenly they heard that voice again. When they opened there eyes the noticed the light wall was gone and the lights were back on.
