Resin

Resin

A Poem by JR

scene: basement

yellowing the carpet
yellowing the door and frame delicately nicked
yellowing the posters
yellowing the window glass the window pane
yellowing the fan blowing SE corner
yellowing the dust particles
yellowing the game controllers
yellowing the books neatly lined in rows showing their asses
yellowing the laptop almost always closed
yellowing the pornography carefully stashed in closet
yellowing the tiny animals who sought refuge under international treaty
yellowing the plant slowly dying brown death
yellowing the picture frames an undeserved patina
yellowing the walls except in squares
yellowing the sunrise
yellowing the snow that falls in bursts and hiccups
yellowing the tone that drifts down the stairs
yellowing the music playing from attached room
yellowing the yelling
yellowing the sunset
yellowing the conversations hunched and breathing deep
yellowing the reality
of a gray paste lump
shaped like a man
propped up
small room
slowly
being coated
in his
exhale.
