Base

Base

A Poem by JR

Like any ghost once

this owned bones, it drank

it laughed, it danced, sang

and moaned like all

things it grew weary of

its body,

like all things sewn

from ashes, back

to ashes it will go,

base elements of flame, sea

breath,

and stone.

Not your basic upper, this one, but it does speak an inarguable truth. As there is an entrance, so is there an exit. Perhaps the mind does indeed grow weary of the body. That's why it is wise to have an acquaintance with the spirit.
