Bukowski

Bukowski

A Poem by JR

Now that’s a f*****g unreasonable statement, isn’t it? - Charles Bukowski

Like Bukowski I find both drink and death

welcome, let the whiskey win, let the beer

can crush fill the recycle bin, f*****g myself

and then f*****g myself over again;

I should open all my doors

and windows, take four shots,

four beers, a few pills,

dull my steel,

unload all my guns, and wait

and wait

and wait

and drink

and wait

for the reaper to come in.

you really capture the sense of him...and i often wonder if he was not a really frustrated writer.
Perhaps he thought himself just average with his words, and wished he were great.
Maybe that is why so many seem to relate to him and see him as a cult-writing hero...
good work JR.

I guess everyone at WC get crazy about Bukowski. This is like 6 writing about him what i see here. But I think this more close to his style. Mostly people forget Bukowski was man just few words and this words were usually vulgar and dirty. That's why we loving him. When I read second time this poem. And get to line about guns there was another American genius who pop up at my mind. Hunter S . Thompson when he get always drunk he have to shoot from his collections of heavy guns. His documentary style of writing it's actually very close to Charles . So that was my thoughts about this writing. Have good time.
